Giving back to our community, together

At Berwick Rangers Juniors, we believe football is about more than what happens on the pitch. It’s about teamwork, respect, responsibility, and pride in where we live. That belief is at the heart of Goals Beyond Football, our community project that brings players, parents, coaches, and committee members together to make a positive difference locally.

What is Goals Beyond Football?

Goals Beyond Football is our commitment to supporting the local community through hands-on volunteering and practical help. our Juniors get involved in projects that teach valuable life skills, encourage community spirit, and show that even small actions can make a big difference.

This initiative helps our young players learn:

  • The value of teamwork both on and off the pitch

  • Respect for their environment and community

  • Pride in giving back and looking after shared spaces

What kind of things do we do?

We’re happy to help with any project that benefits our local community. So far, our Juniors have proudly taken part in:

  • Berwick Food & Beer Festival Clean-Up
    Helping volunteers pack away hundreds of chairs, tables, litter, and gazebos after a hugely successful local event.

  • Community Orchard Bulb Planting
    Working alongside Castle Parks Berwick at the Community Orchard on Countess of Buchan Way, planting squills, daffodils, and snowdrops that will bring colour and growth for years to come.

  • tommy the Miller’s Meadow
    Raking wildflowers and tidying the meadow in collaboration with Castle Parks Berwick, learning how caring for green spaces supports wildlife and the wider community.

These projects give our young players the chance to learn, help, and look after the places they live in — all while having fun and working together.

Building Partnerships, Pride & Award-Winning Community Spirit

Goals Beyond Football is built on collaboration. We’re proud to work alongside local organisations, volunteers, and community groups to build strong relationships and a shared sense of purpose. Every project reinforces our belief that football clubs can be a positive force beyond matchdays.

We are incredibly proud to have been awarded North Northumberland Voluntary & Community Youth Group of the Year 2025, supported by Community Foundation North East. This recognition highlights that volunteering is truly intergenerational. there is no age limit to having community spirit and reflects the dedication of our Juniors, families, coaches, and supporters who give their time to help our community thrive.
